MEN > women
A World Premiere Play
Written & Directed by Salma Mahmoud
September 19 - 21
Set during the aftermath of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, MEN > women is a fiercely feminist examination of resilience, bodily autonomy, and the systems that have suppressed women’s lives for centuries.
It follows Mara, an 18-year-old on the verge of adulthood and the two women who raised her –her sharp-tongued Grams and fiercely loyal Aunt Tia. As they prepare for Mara’s graduation celebration, long-buried truths and new, alarming issues force the family to reckon with both their violent past and their uncertain futures. MEN > women is deeply personal, unapologetically political, and an urgent call to action in the fight for women’s rights.
